A young boy listens to a cat's heartbeat, guided by our team
Moments like this capture the heart of the 2025 clinic — a child discovering empathy for animals, with a caring volunteer right beside him.
Every procedure starts with careful, thorough preparation
From shaving to IV placement, patient prep requires precision and teamwork — two qualities the PRCP team brought to every step of the process.
The work didn't stop at sundown — care continued through the night
When a boxer needed attention after hours, the team improvised with phone flashlights and kept going. No animal was left without care, regardless of the hour.
Focused and precise — every patient prepped to the same professional standard
Shaving the surgical site is one of the first steps toward a safe procedure. The team approached each task with complete focus, from first touch to final stitch.
Sometimes the best care happens right on the clinic floor
Not every patient could be treated on a table. Our team got down without hesitation, making sure every animal's needs were fully met.
Whatever it takes — dedication without limits
This image says it all: when an animal needs care, the team adapts. No position too awkward, no hour too late, no challenge too great.
Surgical team selfie — morale high, standards higher
Even in the middle of a busy surgery day, the team found moments of joy. High spirits and high standards were both present throughout the 2025 clinic.
Two hands, one goal — caring for every patient together
The 2025 clinic ran on collaboration. Every procedure brought together different skills and one shared commitment: the animal on the table.
Real equipment, real expertise — every surgery monitored with professional-grade care
From anesthesia to vitals monitoring, the 2025 clinic operated with the same standards and equipment found in any professional veterinary practice.
The moment a pet parent meets their dog after care — pure joy
Every animal that came through the clinic went home to a family who loved them. These reunions were a reminder of exactly why the work matters.
This is what recovery looks like — a dog ready to go home
After care, the energy shifts. This moment captures the relief and happiness that filled the clinic when animals were well enough to return to their families.
No animal was left alone — the team stayed through the night
Long after the clinic day ended, volunteers remained under the open palapa, keeping recovering animals calm, warm, and safe until morning.
Every patient deserved a moment of love
Small acts of tenderness like this one defined the spirit of the 2025 clinic — where every animal, no matter how brief the encounter, was treated with dignity and care.
No patient too small — every animal received the same attentive care
This tiny chihuahua received the full attention of the PRCP team — a reminder that compassionate care has no size minimum.
Multiple procedures running simultaneously — the clinic worked at full capacity
At peak hours, the team managed multiple surgeries at once, keeping every animal safe and every procedure on track — a true display of professional coordination under pressure.
Each animal guided carefully through recovery, one breath at a time
Post-surgery recovery required patience and vigilance. Our team sat with every patient, monitoring breathing and comfort until each animal was stable and ready to go home.
Curiosity and compassion — local children learn to listen to a dog's heartbeat
One of the most memorable moments of the 2025 clinic: two boys lean in with a stethoscope, discovering that care for animals begins with simply paying attention.
A successful procedure — and two teammates who gave everything to make it happen
Behind every animal that recovered was a dedicated team member who showed up, worked hard, and found joy in the results. These smiles say it all.
When the work is meaningful, it shows
The 2025 clinic was demanding — but the smiles never faded. This is what it looks like when a team is exactly where they're supposed to be.
Every detail matters — treatment delivered with focus and precision
From IV placement to wound care, every procedure required concentration and skill. The team's precision ensured each animal received safe, effective treatment.
Our 2025 Clinic
We're thrilled to share the success of our first spay/neuter clinic in rural Costa Rica, a milestone moment for the Pets Rule CARE Project and the communities we serve.
Our team brought compassionate, accessible, and responsible care directly to a region where veterinary services are often limited or out of reach. Over the course of the clinic, 140 dogs and cats received free spay/neuter surgeries and essential medical care. For many of these animals, it was their first time receiving veterinary attention.
The impact went far beyond the procedures themselves. Local pet parents were welcomed with education, guidance, and resources to help them better care for their animals long term. These conversations built trust, strengthened understanding, and empowered families to make informed choices for their pets' health and well-being.
The experience also laid the foundation for something even bigger. Our collaboration with local partners helped streamline processes, strengthen logistics, and deepen relationships on the ground, making future clinics more efficient and impactful.
"What we witnessed in Costa Rica confirmed what we believe at our core: when compassionate veterinary care meets strong local partnership and donor support, real change is possible."
This first clinic was just the beginning. With continued support, we are building toward greater reach, deeper care, and a future where no community is left without access to essential veterinary services.

Every scene points back to the same goal: making compassionate veterinary care more accessible for underserved pets and the people who love them.
Guayabo combines rescue, rehabilitation, sanctuary care, education, and community support programs that strengthen long-term impact far beyond a single clinic day.
A Rescue And Sanctuary Partner With Deep Community Roots
Pets Rule Care Project partners with Guayabo Animal Rescue & Sanctuary because their work reflects the same long-term commitment to animal welfare, community access, and compassionate veterinary care in Costa Rica.
Guayabo's model reaches beyond rescue alone, supporting sterilization clinics, medical assistance, education, and community-centered programs that help reduce suffering before it starts.
- Guayabo brings trusted local relationships, rescue experience, and a strong understanding of regional needs.
- Together, PRCP and Guayabo can expand access to spay and neuter services, basic treatment, and practical support for families who may otherwise go without care.
- This partnership helps connect short-term clinic impact with longer-term community care, education, and animal protection.

Help Us Reach More Pets
While last year was a tremendous success for our team, many communities in Costa Rica are still waiting for help to arrive. In 2026, we're returning in partnership with Guayabo Animal Rescue, who will host us at their animal sanctuary, while also reaching underserved areas like Chiro and Venado Island where government support is limited.
Your support helps bring essential veterinary care, resources, and education to pets and families who would otherwise go without.
We've seen what's possible when compassion is put into action. Now we're building on that momentum, one community at a time.
If this work moves you, we invite you to be part of what comes next!
